PDF.js: Firefox's HTML5 PDF Viewer

Just a short time ago rendering a PDF would have been considered a task that only a native application could handle. However, with the advent of many new HTML5 APIs and blazing fast JavaScript engines it is now possible to create native like applications within the browser. Brendan Dahl discusses Mozilla's reasons for creating PDF.js, a brief overview of the PDF format, shows how we render PDF's using HTML5, and presents some of the lessons we learned along the way.

Recorded live in the Mozilla Devroom on Day 1 of FOSDEM '13 in Brussels.
