The build system for mozilla-central hasn't really changed much in 10 years. That's all about to change.
In this talk, Gregory Szorc will be covering all facets of the Firefox/mozilla-central build system with an emphasis on future direction. He will discuss projects underway and try to convince the audience why these (sometimes radical and controversial) changes are for the best.
Topics covered will include:
- "mozbuild" files
- non-recursive make
- Visual Studio projects
- Tup, Ninja, GYP and similar build tools
- Python version compatibility
There will be a question and answer session at the end.
